Crohand
Crohand is a landmass covered by diverse people and opinions- often to its detriment. Most of the landmass is covered by jungles, swamps, and forests– although a large desert swallows much of the northwest. The land is often torn apart by petty wars.
Agrana
The desert jewel.
A desert kingdom known for its trade. Agrana is profoundly capitalist, moreso than other nations; their entire government system is based on who has the most wealth and who can afford their seat on the High Council. The 7 wealthiest in the nation decide the country’s fate, and although they are generally regarded as fair, there’s always a better answer than the one provided.

Ranians have a very “eat or be eaten” mentality, and sticking your neck out for someone else is considered a flawed action. Most of the laws of the nation revolve around protecting the wealthy. Even those that could use charity often refuse it, believing the only way out of poverty and misery is to climb out by their own means.
There are, of course, those that accept charity, but they are generally frowned upon, as are those that offer it. Taking your hard-earned resources and distributing them to those that can offer nothing in return is seen as a stupid decision that only a fool would make. Due to such attitudes, moving between social castes or monetary classes is extremely difficult.
The youngest generation of growing Ranians have attempted to speak out against the way things are, but those with power are quick to silence them by any means necessary. When the rich rule without contest, they do whatever it takes to maintain the status quo.
Agesh. The native language of Agrana. It started as a dialect of Aguri but evolved to be its own distinct tongue. It's based on Egyptian Arabic in real life.
Aguri. The common tongue of Crohand. Most other languages on the continent stem from it, but it itself is more often studied than spoken. It's based on Classical Arabic in real life.
Common. The common tongue of the world. Ranians that attend school are expected to learn Common in order to further foreign relations outside of Crohand.

Labryism. "May the odds be in your favor." The most common religion in Agrana, Labryism (followers called "Labrist(s)") follows primarily Isir, the god of fortune and good luck. Short prayers are commonplace before any activity believed to have a potential luck swing- which is just about anything.
Laslinity. "Phrase here." The commonplace religion of Crohand. Known to worship the "golden quartet" of Solena, Isir, Fuo'mo, and Lazza. Laslins (followers of Laslinity) are usually very lawful individuals, and they follow strict moral codes.

Bessemar
Capital of Agrana.
Bessemar is located in the center of the Li Raz Desert. It was built around an oasis that is now the center of the city, and is also close to a large mesa. The city is divided into sectors based on income of the inhabitants, with the richest people living near the oasis and the poorest living on the outskirts. A large wall surrounds the inner sanctums of the city, blocking out potential desert threats, sandstorms, and the poor alike.
